What exactly does the main jet control? And what does the pilot jet control? I was chainging my jetting and I took the wrong thing out, instead of the pilot I pulled out the other one next to the main. Does anyone know what that is? Maby the needle?

main controls 3/4 to full throttle, pilot controls idle to 1/8 throttle.

i think what i first pulled out was the needle. It had a spring on it...

You can access the main jet through the drain bolt on the bottom of the carb bowl. To get to the pilot jet you'll need to remove the carb bowl.

I suggest investing in a repair manual. Either the Honda version or the Clymer version is well worth the money.

i already changed my jets, i just wanted to know what they do now. Anyone know what the needle controls?

The jet that's next to the main but isn't the pilot jet is the starter jet. It's the jet that feeds the the enrichener (i.e. "choke") circuit.

Call me crazy, but that Honda one probably wouldn't be the best choice for his yfz. :blah:
