I know there are alot of Landscape Business owners on here. Lets see some pictures of some of your work. Brick Patios, retaining walls, gravity walls, walkways, etc.

I have tried to stay mostly in mulch, dirt, rock, and lawn care. For 2008 I would like to attempt to add a new dump truck and bobcat for hardscaping. Just curious to see all of your work.

My computer crashed and and dont have pics on this new one. I might be able to dig up a few.

Right now im just running Hustler mowers, Stihl saws/whips/blowers/trimmers/edgers. Basic landscape equipment, no big machinery YET. Just sold my truck, looking for a dump bed now. Just sold my trailer, looking for a 18ft enclosed and possibly another flatbed if i actually do get a bobcat.

I work 75hr weeks during the summer landscaping. I wish I had some pictures of some of the amazing work we do. We do anything and everything. Im going to see if I can get some from my boss. We put a 35ft circle of pavers infront of a guys garage!!! looks amazing. Also built a 10Ft tall waterfall that falls into a pool. We also mow lawns and plowing in the winter.

Nice work tat900. Is that John Deere a 757?

Im looking to purchase a new 60" mower, debating on staying with Hustler or changing to John Deere.

ever run an Exmark Lazer Z?

the 60'' with a 26HP Kolher is a real nice mower. fast, and neat assuming you know how to run a zero turn.

we've had four of them and all 800+ hours with no real problems.

belts are considered general mait.

All Huslter's are zero turns.

I never have considered an Exmark because the closest dealer is a couple hours.

I have run smaller John Deere's and Toro's in the past. I will most likely stick to the Hustler Super Z's. I love the 15mph, suspension seat and flex forks.

Also, does anyone run Mini skid steers?

I don't have the use for a full size one. I went and looked at Toro Dingo's today. I think it would be perfect for brick patio's, walkways, brush piles, pulling bushes, snow plow for sidewalks, planting tree's.

What are the lifting capacity on those things? You might be better off saving your money and hiring a laborer.

If you want a piece of machinery i would suggest a backhoe. I never really liked skids. We use ours for everything and it is still strong at 19 years old.

Lift I believe is 800-1250 depending on the model. I already have 1 full time laborer working for me.

A backhoe is absolutely pointless for the work i do. Mini-skids are perfect. Mulching, moving brush piles, planting tree's, filling holes, moving pallet's of brick on job sites, stripping turf for brick patios. Back filling behind retaining walls. Moving small amounts of stone. Plus if there is a fenced in back yard, good luck fitting a backhoe or a full sized skid back there.

I have rented a mini skid many of times and it worked perfectly. I'm just not too familiar with the toro dingo.

So you can put forks or backfill with a backhoe? They do make them in all sizes and you can dig out for the base, and dig holes for trees with them. It is all up to you but i know our skid we barely used.

Bobcat MT 52. it's great for paver jobs. we used the jackhammer to break out old patios then the bucket to take out the old material and bring the new in. it's a bit priceier, but you get the Bobcat durability and attachment availibility. I also really like the stump grinder attachment. it's a very versitale machine.
