if you mean like "mud bogging" they arent great tires. and just a lil patch of soft mud once in a while isnt so bad with them. but dont get the 18" tires unless you race, or do not need to worry about bottoming out.

Aren't tamers only 2 ply,,which would only be good on groomed MX tracks???

I have a set of 20 inch turf tamers and a set or 18s. I run the 18s grooved for Mx and the 20s for trails. They work great in all conditions. Well atleast they have for me. I run some pretty rough trails. Alot of Roots and Rocks/Stones and i have not put a hole or got a flat yet. And as for the 18s bottoming out. I don;t know where you got that idea. Just because your tires are smaller it won;t effect how your shock bottoms. The 18s are great but don;t run them in the woods. They lower your ride hieght to much nd cause you to hit alot of rocks you wouldn;t hit with 20s.

Carlisle makes turf tamers in 4-ply construction. They are supposed to be synonymous with the US built TITAN line. 35-40 bucks a tire depending on size, in my newest rocky mountain catalog.

NACS425Ex: what i meant by that they bottom out easier is that there is less overall ground clearance.

On normal trail riding conditions, would i be better off with my holeshots XCTs or Turf tammers??

good question, ive been lookin at turfs too

Truf tamers suck in mud, they get ud packed so easy it aint funny, holeshots are good in mud, if you got thte turf's though you should groove them so they dont get mid packed and holeshot's DONT WEAR FAST they are real good quality tire

tamers dont self-clean AT ALL! They suck in mud like Lathers said.
There decent in Sand, Holeshots arent good in sand, The razr's seem like they would be a good tire for all around. I plan on getting some as my trail tires, and If I like them enough I'll try out their MX razr's.
My reccomendation would be.......holeshots out of the two, But definatley look into razr's!!!
