bumper bolts

does anyone know what the thread is for the bumper bolts on the 400ex

You need an 8 x 20 flange bolt about an inch long

well ive got the bolts but the top two mounts on the frame are not tapped at all. i dunno what the guy before me had rigged up but im gonna end up drilling and tapping. have you ever seen this? btw thanks for the info

most folks just use a long bolt and a nyloc nut instead of dicking around trying to tap out the hole as they are usually reamed out pretty good if it was sheared by hitting a tree:eek2:

the wierd thing is, the hole is actually smaller than the bolt. its almost like the hole was filled with weld and drilled and ground smooth because there are slight imperfections in the metal. crazy hillbillies :confused:

mine was messed up so i ran all thread through the top mount .
