Anybody know if the old rancher 350-400 mount will fit on my 07 420?

yes but what I mean is are the old rancher mounts the same as the new ones? has anything changed? I want to get a warn winch and Mount package off ebay but it says its for a rancher 350-400.

I don't think it will. The mounts for the 420 are very specific (different part numbers). I've been researching Rancher 420 winches and mounts trying to decide which way I want to go. The mount for the Rancher 420 from Gorilla Winches will only work on the 4x4 model and they don't even have one for the 2x4 model. They said that mounting plate would interfere with the steering on the 2x4 model, but that the mounting plate sold by Honda for the Warn winch would work with the Gorilla waterproof models because they use a Warn bolt pattern. Honda only has one part number for 4x4 and 2x4 models (Warn part# 75660) as does Superwinch. The Warn mount specifies that it only fits the Warn 23 and 35 XT/RT winches, and a quick call to Gorilla Customer Service confirmed that it will also fit their XTR and Pro 2500 lb winch. That plate appears to be the same plate that Honda sells. I think I will probably buy the top of the line Gorilla 2,500 lb winch (XTR) for $193.99 (including all mounting hardware, remote switch, handlebar switch, aluminum Hawse fairlead, blue synthetic cable, winch stopper, yadayada...) and the Warn mounting plate from Honda for $80.00 and save about $125 over the $499 price I was quoted by Honda for the Warne winch (installed)....I rarely use the winch anyway, since I use my machine mostly for hunting.
