Can I eliminate the starter and battery in my sons DRX 90?
If so, does anything special need to be done after removal.

Thanks,
Jason

Yes it can be removed,

You can remove all the wiring on the frame and just use the basic wiring. You will loose the head lamp though but if thats not a problem remove it. Make life much easier.

this should help

2 wire plug
orange--------to positive side of coil
black-----------to negative side of coil if 2 wire coil, if one wire coil to frame ground
black/white stripe............frame ground
black/red stripe------------plug into same color wire from stator
white/red stripe-----------plug into same color wire from stator

stator
3 wire plug
only use the black from this plug to a frame ground, tape off other 2 wires
black/red stripe----------------to cdi
white/red stripe...................to cdi

I am going to ask a dumb question. What does grounding this wire do?I have always just taped up the 3 wire plug from the stator harness.

not sure if it would matter or not but that black wire is grounded directly to the stator. i always have liked as many grounds as i can get.
