I sent my brother in-law down to the dealership to pickup a NCVQ Needle and some jets so we could jet his 07' YFZ450 and they told him the highest they show is a NCVT. Will this work or do I need to call down there and try to get the right one ordered. The NCVT is a Needle for the 04' YZ450F also.

hmm.. never heard of the NCVT needle. I just asked for the NCVQ needle... You might want to call down there, and make sure its the right one from the YZF.

Dont know you elevation but i am at 3000ft and i run 48 pilot and a 165 main with full exhaust, K&N and cam mod on my 06, just to give you a starting point

I called and got the right one ordered. What I am going to jet at is 45P - 168M - NCVQ Needle 4th slot. I am at 5,-5,500' and it has been in the 40's.

if you are looking to dial in your carb look into the f2 racing powerback kit. i got one on my 07. it comes with a few jets, needle, magnetic oil and timing plugs in black, blue or red powdercoat, and instructions on the carb work. it also shows how to drill out your stock exhaust and how to do the "cam mod". it destroys that F'in bog.:D www.f2racing.net/Yamaha-YFZ450-2006-2008-Demissions-Kit-p/dkyfz.htm

yeah it works great, the fuel screw is better than others i have tried. it doesn't shake out of adjustment at all. plus you would be surprised at the amount of shavings the magnetic plugs get out of your engine's motion lotion:D

the carb work isnt to bad if you know what your doing. the instructions are great + photos. the thing that takes the longest is the "cam mod" but it explains it. all together with changing oil and putting in the plugs, cam mod,and carb work, maybe 4-5 hours or so. ;)

on mine the cam mod made the midrange hit a little harder and it revved on the top better and quicker.

the power hits harder, mostly mid to top end. if you get the kit and have problems i can try to help but probably no better than the instructions, its all strait forward:(
