Thats a deal to me! Make sure it hasnt been raced or been to abusive areas TOO often.. Since you saw pics, if it looks somewhat well put together, 2900 is well worth it. Hang onto that extra money you have left over though because for that cheap you may have to do a few repairs most likely. Also be aware, those black plastics show scratches like terribad. I had one for awhile, i did some normal woods riding and they just looked scratched to hell after a few months. All in all though its a great deal, just be ready for the worst. Ask him if he's replaced the bearings, maintained it on a regular basis, where it was kept, and if the engine has been rebuilt yet. If you had a 3800 budget, you will be happy in the end.

nahh im not worried about that pricing on 450r's and other quads are way cheaper then where most of you guys live. i've almost got a deal on 2 ltr's for 3300 and one for almost 2800 that needed stock arms replaced and a computer. he's been trying to sell for a while he started at like 3500 and his last asking price was 3200 and i through out 2800 and he said good but its 2900 with bars and +2 stem good deal i like it.

If the red frame is an 06, then thats what it will have to be titled as. The 04 title, if thats all he has aint worth a dime.

ill bet you my own bike that there is somthing fishy about that four wheeler. that is all i have to say....if your dumb enough to waste your hard earned cash on a pieced together bike with used parts then by all means go for it.

myself; im pretty effin sure i would spend an extra couple hundred dollars for piece of mind for a bike that has a matching frame and motor---:huh

its the powdercoating from 06 not the actual frame maybe i was unclear, he's the first owner bought it from dealer.

um....arent the 06 frames different!??! The 05 motor doesnt fit in the 06 07 08 frame and that is a 05 motor in the quad so my guess is its a first gen R.

it got powdercoated, but its an 04 frame.

The only thing that i see strange is that it has 05 plastic. There is no 04 in black just red. Did you get to see it in person? Its a good deal if its all legit. But Id look that thing over with a magnifying glass. Check everything over good and than do it again. Ask to hear it run and ride it around. Look at the airfilter and change the oil right away if you buy it than youll know how well it was taken care of.

alright I got more information now!! I called him, it was the sons quad, and son hit a tree with the quad bent his old arms and frame so he bought a new frame, black plastics and arms and stock shocks were off the other 450r he owns. He bought the frame from honda and the title for the quad is the title for the new frame he bought from hodna which is powdercoated whatever color. thanks for the help guys cause if i see anyting from the old wreck on the quad then im gonna save more monay!

I have an 05 TRX for sale! I'm the first owner. I have it listed for 4,500! The price he has it for is to low! Theres something wrong:eek2: Look you mention the plastics being good. I will tell you after my first ride my plastics were all scratched up, and I ride moderately. Black plastics do hold up well. If the quad was rolled all he did was have it painted and new plastics installed. You have to think of frame damage! I paid 6,300 for mine new. Plus paddles, graphics, exhaust. I spent well over 2k in these things alone. I would rather see mine burn than to let it go that cheap. The rule is if it sounds to good to be true, It probably is.

i know it seems too good to be true and ive heard that way more then you think i have. He got a new frame for one and i'm going to be checking practically everything on the quad, but its an 04 and look in the new jersey craigslist ads all these 450rs sell for 3000-4000 a guy with an 05 will sell his with a full pipe and k&n filter its an 05 and he wants it gone for 3000.

well i went to look at it today and everythings perfect. the man is also a member of this site and the quad was great he started it up while it was cold and started on 2nd kick i checked everything possible at the time and it was all good. he has the title and everything and he kept great care of it cause he owns like 8 or 9 quads and races gncc this bike was raced by his son 3 times but then lost interest and was maintained ever since. they have other bikes and quads and he works for service honda so most bearings and misc parts are brand new and have always been replaced.

i gave him 100$ down payment because i wasnt going to rent a truck and drive an hour and a half and find out that it wasnt any good but i'm going back this friday i think and i'll have it in my garage. compared to a 400ex this thing is loud the stock exhaust is.

Congrats on the purchase, you'll love it. Who cares if it was even pieced together, if you're like most of us, a lot of those parts wont even stay on there, they'll be getting replaced with aftermarket...;)

haha yeah your right with the aftermarket part this guy was a good guy did not hide anything and everything was in excellent shape. when the money comes aftermarket parts will be replaced. i liked the stock handlebars so things im looking for is a black quadtech hood, pro armor dominator bumper and fat peg nerf bars if any of you have those for sale let me know ive got paypal!
