Do these rub the paint off of the springs like the other "Shockwears" kind does? And if not, what about over a prolonged period of time?

I've purchased new c/o's for my truck and am thinking about getting a set of the neoprene kind from dirtskins. I will only be using them during the winter months though to protect them from the harsh salt/calcium chloride used here on the PA roadways.

Thanks.

I have had them on my stock YFZ shocks for a few years now and the springs do show some wear, but not even through the top layer of paint.

I take the covers off every time I clean the bike and clean the shock and cover, some dirt does get through.

Neoprene are the way to go, they will not wear the paint off the springs anything near what the regular shock covers do. They can get expensive though, which is why you dont see them too much. PEP sells them, they're around $75 a pair.

I got mine through C&D, high quality stuff. I think they are dirtskins too.
