I have a pep rebuildable on my ex, one of the best investments I ever made. a must have for xc racing & trail riding. you can hammer it over logs, rocks & ruts without the bars getting jerked out of your hands.

which one do you guys like on the EX?

i run the noss NON rebuildable on both my 400ex adn my 450r...the cartridges(shock looking part) are all the same for them...and you can buy a replacement cartridge for around $40, or the price you would have in the rebuild kit and the cost to have someone rebuild it for you...

so considering the non rebuildable ones are 30 cheaper to start with, plus i would feel more comfortable having a NEW cartridge as opposed to a rebuilt one, my opinion is that the non-rebuildable ones are a better bargain...

in this pic, you can see one mounted to each of my bikes...

this pic shows the frame clamp and steering stem clamp...the 400ex mounts the same way

anyone know where i can buy one? and which on in your opinion is the best bang for the buck?

noss machines are usually available on ebay...you can buy it now for around 125 and 12 shipping or if you are patient, you can win one fro 110 with 12 shipping...

i am on my 3rd noss right now...i thought i was selling the 450r at one point so i took an offer on the one i had for it...ended up not selling the bike and bought another noss. i had the noss on the way before i even picked up the 450r from the dealer...since they all use the same cartridge but just put a different sticker on it, it really don't matter except for the price.

look for them for a 450r, you'll notice that in the auction, they will list many makes and models of bikes it fits, all you have to do is tell them what you are buying it for...the only thing different from the 450r to the 400ex version is the stem clamp size...
