I have an 06' 400ex thats pretty much stock... All have is an fmf power core 4 slip on pipe, and k&n with no air box. Would the 450r carb help it? also what about race gas...does it help a stock engine? thanks

Yes. Im running about the same mods as you except that i have a stg. 1 hotcam...
My 450 carb was about the most noticable mod I've done for speed.

race gas won't do anything for you.

What r all the advantages of a 450r carb? will it help with bottom or mid-range? im not conserned with top speed, just acceleration

i think it helps everywear b/c it give you more air and gas so i would think that it would work like that but i don't know. it also makes the throttle response much faster

I am not sure how it would work on a stock bike, but I would guess that it does pretty well judging by some of the feedback on this site. It was a great upgrade to my 440. The Edelbrock I had on it was a great improvement over stock, but the 450r carb beat it out easily in every way for a fraction of the cost. Definately worth it IMO.

The race gas is a no...especially on the EX which comes with very low compression. It would probably hurt you more than anything.
