Today I was getting ready to go for a new years ride. So I hop on my 2004 450r and go to kick it. I put all my strenght into kicking the R and the kick shaft won't even budge one bit. So I go and Try the Decompression lever that won't move either. I am thinking the valves might be siezed what do you think?

Decompression lever?
You mean hot start?

There is no decompression lever on the 450rs, it has an auto decompresser on the end of the cam.

Oh I thought the hot start button was a decompression button as well oops my bad

Well do you know why the kick and hot start won't move and why are they seized

I doubt the hot start being stuck is related to the kicker being locked up.

The hot start goes directly to the carb, it just opens an air passage to lean the fuel mixture. Thats probably jambed up from junk in the carb/cable.

The last time u rode the bike did it stall abruptly or anything?

The most common reasons for the kickers locking up are: crank bearing / rod bearing / valves hitting the piston / broken ring.

How did it run the last time u used it?

It ran good the last time but I think since I was riding through slush and ice parts might have froze up so I brought it in my heated garage today maybe that will help
