funny, im running stock hubs on a lonestar axle, you probably got a 400ex axle.

ya you can use it. you need to buy 400ex hubs though. count the number of spline on the axle and that'll tell you what went wrong.

400ex and 450r are the same = 24 spline
250r = 25 spline

Another thing about that 400EX axle, its machined longer where the bearing carrier goes than the 250R & you will need a spacer to go between the outside of the brake rotor hub & the locking nut.
Will need a spacer the width of a single row inner bearing race.

My axle is 25 spline... but my hubs are 24 spline, I had what i thought was a 250r axle. But could it be a 400ex then? I'm confused

ya it sounds to me like whoever owned your quad before you had a 400ex axle on it.

just go to ebay and buy some used R hubs and you'll be back in business

85 or 86 atc350x hubs also fit, just in-case you can't find a set of 250r hubs.
