HELP 400ex axle lock nut!!!!

hi, i need some help getting my 400ex stock axle lock nut back on... i changed my bearings and now i am ready 2 put my lock nut back on and i dont know how??? is it just supposed 2 be snugg on the axle?? please help i am really confused.. thanks

well when i put my new carrier in i marked the threads with a marker so when i went to put the lock back on it would be the same, as far as preload i dont think there is any, ill tey to find my book and look it up,
