What is the location on the carb of the pilot jet? the needle? Also, is a 178 main, 48 pilot, with the needle on the middle clip a good setup for a 2004 with an Uni filter, full exhaust, and the Air box lid remeved? thanks

Piolet jet and main jet are on the bottom of the carb (in float bowl) and the needle is in the top of the carb where the throttle cable connects into. Also you're fuel screw is on the shifter side i believe, and you should make it 2.5 turns out as a rough starting point.

As far as jetting im not too sure, dont have a 450R. Someone else can help with that.

Also, in order for them to help you, you should say your elevation/temp as well.
