well my mechanic told me that since my quad smokes a little oil smoke at startup that my top end is getting worn out.

he said that it will eventually progress and the smoke will get worse and I'll start losing power and fouling plugs and that it could maybe last me till summer.

So he said he doesn't necessarily like to put stock spec stuff back in when he rebuilds things and neither do I.

I'm going with a 416 bore and 11:1 compression piston and using a JE piston and a port job.

I haven't felt the power of a built 400 in a while.. What does it feel like lol.

The 416 is a good choice the higher compression will add more bottom end torque you can stay with the stg 1 cam but you might like the stg2

When the wife had a 400ex we had the 416 stg2 cam and a 39mm fcr she liked the performance and turned some heads when dragracing :D

how does the power come on like a nice consistant pull or a nice hard hit? How would what I've currently got as a setup go with what I'm getting?

my cousin has the 416 with tc woods cam and lrd exhaust. it has a ton of mid range power. the tc cam is more of a low- mid range cam. the power comes on pretty smooth.

Do TC cams require hardwelded rockers?
