Does anyone know if it will bolt right up to a 250ex?

it might,it may be a tad longer or shorter but it may work if your in a pinch

i'm pretty positive it will be better than the stock 250ex shock. Gas filled shocks are the best you can get and since the 250ex and 300ex are so similar weight and stuff i think it would work. Actually anyone ever took 2 300ex rears and put them as fronts?

Stock 300ex shocks are crap.

The rear's wont even come close to fitting on the front as someone suggested. The mounting points are much larger as is the whole shock. It wouldn't clearance the upper a-arms even if you modified the mounts. The spring rates would also be way too heavy and you'd push like crazy in the corners.

None of the 300ex stock shocks are rebuildable. They are sealed and welded shut.

The lower mounting eyes are also very very weak. Spot welded to the body.

As far as fitting on a 250ex. No clue, sorry. If it did, I'd go with an 01 Raptor Rear then. Rebuildable w/ Remote Res. Much better shock.

Not necesarily. Raptor shock is only good if you were to get a new bumper revalve and resprung. Does the 300ex shock use a linkage or just directly bolted to the swingarm?

I already have the 01raptor rear shock, but it is so stiff the I would have to get it resprung and valved so it is rideable, and I am not interested in pay 250 to do that. Even though that cheap I am just looking for an upgrade that is cheap and better than stock.

I have an 01 Raptor Rear on my Stepsons 300EX with a Laeger +1.25 Swingarm and it is super plush.

Now as for the 250EX the 300EX rear shock on the rear of the 250EX is way too long and would be very stiff. If you are looking for a beeter ride out of the 250EX put a front shock from a 400EX on the rear. I did this on my wifes 250EX and it is much better. And I put a set of stock 300EX front shocks on the front of it and softened the preload adjust up as much as possible and the front is much better now. It was a cheap mod and works for the casual trail rider like she is.

what shocks will fit a 300ex with a stock swing arm. i have the stocker on there now, and it bottoms out to easily. i have heard the raptor shock fits... and if it does, the what year do i need, and will i have to cut anything.

all years from the 660 fit but only the 2001 fits with no mods. The other years will fit but the shocks are piggybacks and one of the air intake tubes have to be cut.

does the 2001 raptor shock on a 300ex improve the ride quality? because now my stock rear shock bottoms out way to early. im looking for something stiffer, more so than a smooth ride. i have works shocks on front, and they work excelent.
to the dude that has one for sale, what al consists in a service? and about how much does a sercive cost?
