hey guys i was just wondering how hard it is to install a memory chip into a laptop computer. im thinking about getting one and wanna put it in myself. i have a gateway laptop, and its a kingston memory chip. let me know, thanks

It's super easy, especially if the ram bays are on the bottom of the laptop. Which normally would only require moving 1 or 2 screws.
Worst case its under the keyboard, where you might need to remove the plastic power button area and a few screws from the keyboard.

Just make sure the laptops off when your messing with it and you should be good.

alright thanks a lot man. did you look at the link at all? just wondering cuz i was just gonna see if this would be a good chip to get. it has good reviews and they say it really speeds things up so i just figured i would get it.

Kingston is a good brand, but I don't know what laptop you have to tell you if it will work or not.

Whats the model of ur gateway?

According to google that model laptop takes DDR PC2700 ram. Not DDR2 like you had linked to.
Sure thats the right model #?
