I re-did the toped. I put in cam chain, piston, valve seals in. Did this because of the ticking. it's not the valves out of adjustment i have adjusted them 3 times. it sound like its coming from the rockers or cam. does this seem possible?

are you running a stock cam? some will tick louder than others. mine ticked since it was brand new.

ticked even louder after i put a HotCam in it.

yea but this clicking noise isn't suppose to be louder than the exhaust when the motor is being revved up. trust me.

oh i forgot. did you re use the exhaust gaskets or put new in. if you put new in, have you taken the headers off for anything then just put them back on.

if so that will make a loud ticking sound. i did that once, take the headers off and put them back on without replacing the gaskets and it ticked like crazy because they were leaking.

mine was making this noise also. even after new cam chain and gears. turned out to be tensioners. they were so bad the new chain and gears were toast. i was lucky it didn't do more damage.
