Is it common for the shock shaft to break off where the lower mount threads on? Do I have to send it to Elka for repair or will another shop be able to get replacement parts for it.

if this is an older shock I have seen a few break there. we can fit it parts and labor, service and seals around$200

How much more would it be to revalve it at the same time?
