ok i have a 2001 400ex and i was woundering if the valves need tuning because i hear a slight noise at the top of the head kinda like they are taping or somethin is it saposted to do that?

mine started doin that then it started skippin onme,,,,i adjusted the valves they were way off....sounds like waht you need

My kids do the same thing, I just use a ballpean hammer.

sounds like ur valve need adjusted like trx said. i had the same thing on mine i was about 3 months after i bought it and i got my valves done and never heard it since. it cost me like 30 or 40 to get it done i think.

Yes, you have a valve tap and they need to be adjusted.
