Is this still an issue on the newer quads or is it pretty well fixed?
I have been in the market for a new cat and a friend has told me to stay away from all the belt drive quads and to go with the Honda because of the tranny.

I've been riring belt drive quads for 13 years now and only have a couple minor incidents where it got wet but I ran it on flat ground 50 yds or so and was fine and that was very deep water on a polaris. I have yamaha now and have never experienced this with water up to fenders,my son has polaris predator 90 and he goes where I go and only happend one time but was able to get out of water under own power.

They have made alot of progress with the belts - that is why you see alot of the manufacturers going to them

Arctic Cat and Suzuki have the bests watertight belt case. I been riding 150 miles in one verry rainy day with lots of wash 2-3 feet deeps without any problems.
