how do you figure out the size in mm of a carb?

Do you know if it is the stock 400ex carb, or what it came off of if it isnt the 400ex carb?

measure the inside diameter with a pair of dial calipers. then multiply that number by 25.4 to get MM. that should give you a close estimate depending on how you measure it.

example 1.49 in X 25.4 = 37.846MM (call it 38mm)

it's a lectron carburetor.

i measured and got around 42 mm, does that make any sense. the guy at the shop said it did not match the intake on my 400ex.

i know lectron does make a 42mm, I have heard people running it before. It is bigger than the over intake port, that shouldn't hurt anything however. Optimally you want the intake ported and polished and then a matching carb.
