does anyone know why can-am put the muffler on the left side of the subframe even though were the header first starts it makes a right and doubles back to the other side of the frame??

The DS650 has it's exhaust routed the same way. I'm going to guess its so that the exhaust can doesn't hit the sprocket or maybe to help with side to side weight distribution.

You can also have a longer mid-pipe without having to extend past the rear grab bar. ;)

Got to hear a DS equipped with the FMF 4.1 with the Megabomb, real nice exhaust tone. Was told that it performed very well.

I tell ya, when in full race dress, these things sit nice and low and are still sooo light. Finally got to take a close up look at the whole bike too. Gotta tell ya, you could shave a couple more pounds off the bike going with titanium nuts and bolts, but aside from that, they pretty much did a great job.

BTW the cast cradle section is webbed for lightness, but It was much thinner than I expected, much lighter too. Saw a disassembeled frame for I believe a future show bike, each frame piece is sooo light.
