Was thinking about building a custom air-box out of aluminum. One that i can fit the battery in. Has anyone attempted this before? I'm new to the whole metal fab thing, so does anybody have any tips? any special tools am i going to need?
it can be done but the only benefit is the pride in saying you made it. It would be less hassle and maybe even cheaper to buy an aluminum airbox. Aluminum is pretty expensive but if you can get the materials needed I say go for it.

yea i'll be learning TIG welding in a fabrication class that i chose as an elective this coming semester. we need one major project, and i think this will be it.

Thats nothing. Last time we went hillclimbing at night, my headers were glowing orange and it set my pants on fire!
I had stopped and kneeled down on my nerf bar for warmth and I wasnt paying attention. I smelled something, and it was my pants. Lol...

Race gas wouldnt make it shoot fire.
If anything race gas would help with that, because it takes longer to detonate a higher octane fuel.
Probably the peices of packing in the canister are coming out. Maybe it is a V8 at heart...

accidently put 110 octane in my dads 200x and it shot flames all night.

im not sure what was up with it, but i think i had some bad gas because i ran it dry, went and got a can of old gas, filled up a little, and tried starting it up and it just backfired and sputtered for a little bit. its all better now though with some new gas. :p

I highly doubt that was because of the gas. Unless it wasnt detonating all of the fuel in the combustion chamber, and it was detonationg throughout the exhaust sytem and out of the tail pipe. Thats always possible.

exactly, when i ran out of gas last night i was kind of far out, so i took the big gas can and filled up a little can and i thought the liquid that was in the bottom was gas.. now i think it was water. ive done that before with the same results. no fun.

Lol...
I dont really know what water would do to one. I would think it would make it run like chit, but idk about shooting fire.
Please tell me you roasted marshmallows on the fire?
If you havent had marshmallows roasted on the fire from an engine...you dont know what your missing!

nope, i only toasted a glove lol. but thank god it stopped having fiery gas because we're off to little sahara, OK next week. fiery gas can be a killer on exhaust holes...

Me and my dad are thinking about taking a trip up there this summer for my 16th B-day. Let me know what you think of the place. And if you dont mind, take some pictures from the top of some of the tallest dunes so I can see the landscape. And maybe some pics of the tall dunes too.
:D

for sure. we'll probably have a pretty big thread with just pictures. the only part thats gonna stink is not having paddles, but hopefully we've never been dune riding before and its 15 hours each way, so we cant justify investing that much into it. we'll get the pics up as soon as we can though.

Weeeeellllll :)
I happen to have an un-needed set of 20-11-10 Kenda sand geckos in my shop. They dont have any deep gashes or anything and Id say that they have 85-90% tread left.
65$ and you pay shipping and theyre yours.
