Hey, i am buying an exhaust for the race bike soon and am looking at the carbon fiber can's. i have heard people have had problems with the carbon ones cracking and they require more maintenance to the packing to keep the carbon from cracking too, i am going to be buying the hmf ironman, not sure if i want the reg. aluminum or the carbon, anyone have the carbon fiber for a year more?

I have 2 friends that have LRD carbon exhausts and yes they do require more maintenance, you see people that burn the stickers on there regular pipes well the carbon will burn from the heat and eventually crack or get a hole, the biggest savings from a carbon exhaust is weight but if you maintenance it frequently you won't have any probs. Both pipes are going on 2ys strong with no probs.
from what I hear carbon fiber will rattle themselves apart. dont know if thats true or not but I dont think its worth the extra cash unless you have a sponsorship with the company or you are gettinga really good deal
