not asking bout what shocks to get but want to know how to get the springs off the stock front shocks?
i want to get the black piece off to make it look different til i get new shocks!

Don't waste your time they looks stupid without the plastic piece there.

ive seen one at glamis without it and liked it.

what do i need to do?
i have the preload at zero and can barely move the spring down half an inch.
what tools will help?

about 350 bucks and a phone.

Order some 450r shocks.:)

You need a spring compressor or some fat friends. Just compress the shock and you can take the spring seat off. Leave the compressor on because you need to compress it to get it back on or if you went the friends route tell them relax because the will need to do it again.

i was gonna steal the fronts off my friends 450 but i cant get the damn top bolt off!:mad:

im gonna look for some tools to get that plastic piece off, maybe cut it off?:macho

id leave it i was told its there to protect your strut

well one down, one to go.
put it in a vise, used to straps, one to crompress the spring and the other to hold the shock upright, worked good.
now just gotta polish the shock and then go backwards.

well got both springs off and polished the shock bodys.
looks really good to me without the plastic things!
will get pics up tomorrow.

you know how the shaft is on the top of the shocks.. well couldnt you just flip the shock so the shaft is on the bottom and then the metal part would look like a non rezzie shock.

no can do. the bottom eye is wider than the top eye. im not gonna gride it to make it fit.

got another question.
would making these shocks dual or tripple rate help them? i can springs for cheap.
