We used 10" aluminum rims on the rear - 4/110

click on the accessories tab....

Tire?? What type of tread are you wanting?

And these JetMoto wheels bolt right onto the Xtreme Typhoon?

Yes - for the rear only though... We have the jet moto aluminum rear rims on my sons typhoon & used the stock fronts!

Awesome! Can I ask what tires you put on and if the purpose was to get more ground clearance like I need? And if so, did it work and much clearance did you get?

We are running TT & Flat track....
On the rear we are running 18x9x10 Hoosier
On the front we are running 18.5x6x10 Hoosier

Since the below pic - we have actually "lowered" the quad!

As you can see from the photo - we used the stock front rims & the rear rims are from Jet Moto

Thats Josh,s favorite pic.He said i want to win one that big .
Looks like the crank held together for you that day

That trophy came from the Missouri State TT Championship.
Second race & won 1st place. He has many hours on this quad & a "few" upgrades - we have had NO problems w/ our crank or anything else. I'm sold on the Xtreme's!!! Only thing I can knock on the Xtreme is the nerf bar basket (heel guard) - and that is a quick fix - REMOVE IT!!!!!
He runs the "production" class & his quad is totally legal. He runs against a few other quads that are maxed out & totally modified. I like to sleep @ night & know that when my son wins - he wins fair & square!!!!

same here, stock engine (old reliable),just a clutch issue, and you hooked us up with the oil to use.
No problems and running strong.
I was just joking about the crank,i know the engine has been strong for you as well

So do you do any off road or TT only? Just curious on what off road tires would work with that size rim well.

Also, what oil were you referring to avoid clutch problems.

No off-road - Hoosiers r way too soft of compound to get into the woods with...
Just about every tire manufacturer has something for that rim... r u riding only off-road w/ your xtreme?

racer514

Yes, off road only. Some local hair scramble type woods races and some local motocross. The stock works fine for motocross but too low of a profile for the woods races. If it is awell rutted trail or a rocky trail, they get stuck too often. Need more clearance in the rear.

I would stongly suggest using a different rim than I suggested earlier then... I would go w/ an 8 or 9" rim (4/110 on rear). Only because you will have more options on tires for your use....
ITP Trac Star 20x10-9
Maxxis Razr 18x10-8
Kenda Klaw 18x10.5x8 or 18-10.5x9

Kenda Knarly 18x10.5-8 **

I suggest, you go to your local dealer (any dealer) and have them give "Modern Tire" a call for you. They will put you a tire & wheel package together & they have very good pricing!!!

However, keep in mind.... all of these tires are much much heavier than stock - you are going to have to beef up the bike a bit & deffinetely beef up your clutch!

Someone else.... please feel free to chime in here w/ suggestions

What do the measurements mean. I know in automobiles the first number is the measurement from bead to bead, the second number is the ratio of the sidewall as compared to the first number, and the third number is the rim diameter. I think these may be different measurements.

Thanks!

18 tall
10. 5 wide
8 inch rim
simple enough

Seems so but doesnt give me a lot of hope since the stock ones are 18 tall so the ones you showed me wouldn't be any taller, correct? I have to go out to the trailer and see if the ones we have are really 18.

For some reason the stockers aren't as tall as any other 18" tall tires. A newer tire that you might want to check out that I just love is the Maxis mini razor 18X6.5X8. Taller than stock, yet not a whole lot heavier.

Yeah, I went out to measure the stock and they are closer to 16 than to 18. That is strange. So a "real" 18 would give us another inch of clearance.

JBOYZ,

I'm thinking a 10 inch wide tire is too big considering it comes with a 6.5

I was looking at 19x7-8 or something like that. Don't know if anything is available in that area. I'm just trying to base it on logic.

big tred,

how much taller is that mini-razor?

I saw some Maxxis (I think) tires on a mod 90 at the races that was about an 18x8x8 but I can't find them anywhere. Must be an oem tire for something. That would be a good compromise between weight and clearance.

ive been wrong before but i think not to many tires in 19''. the few ive seen are more of a balloon type tire. the stock trx90 tire is 19x8x8 and they work alot better in the sand than the ams sidewinder paddles i have for it. but the xtreme might be differant because of the more power it has. my son parked his 125 at the dunes and rode the trx because it got around alot better . the 125 just dug in to easy.

Racer514,
I measured these uninflated and I got about 17 1/4"

Right now I am leaning towards the TRX size as I think it would do what I need. Then keep the stockers for Motocross type tracks. Do you know or can you find out if the Honda wheel bolts onto the Xtreme (rear) so I can just order a Honda set up. I think the Honda is a 19x7-8, is that correct?

i went to garage and checked. his 07trx has 19x8x8 tires. the honda trx 90 rims wont work on the xtreme. the trx90 rims are 4x100 rims and the xtreme uses 4x110 rims. most of the manufactures use a 4x110 rim on some of there atvs. as long as you get a 4x110 rim it should work. i think the 250ex 300ex 400ex 450r use a 4x110 rim. just make sure you can get a lighter rim for the xtreme. douglas makes a .125 rim that should hold up on an xtreme, they wont hold up on a heavier atv or if you do a lot of jumping. i think the next weight is a .190 . i have the .125 on my raptor with sand tires but i dont jump very much, havnt bent one yet!! if you can get someone who has rims that are 4x110 bolt pattern they should bolt right on. doesnt matter what tire size they are. the heavier the rim and tire the more power it takes to turn them so go as lite as possible. anybody fill free to correct me if im wrong.
