i just took my R down and added a 13.1:1 Wiseco piston kit, and i had a guy port my head and i removed the valves so he could do it. i put it all back together, its in time, the exhaust valve clearance is good, but the intake valves i lost my feeler gauge so i cant check them, but it backfires sometimes, and the plug is wet, so i am leaning toward an issue with the intake valves. i need help

well you answered your question yourself basically.

Measure those intakes up. And the plug is wet from the gas going into the cylinder but not burning it. Check the clearance and go from there. Also, timing may be off 180 degrres

make sure decompresion arm is on the right way, does hurt anything just back fires alot and takes long time to start !:)

i took my head back off and i poured some gas down in the intake to see if any of the valves were leaking. and i do have a slight leak in one of the valves. could this be why????

is the head completely off of the motor? if it is and there is gas leaking than the valve is either stuck open or bent

i think i found the problem, i took the head off and checked to see if the valves were in correct, which they are, and they arent leaking UNTIL i put the cam and carrier back on the top of the motor. so my right side intake valve is being pushed open by the cam. there was 0 clearance on both intake valves, and the exhaust is fine. so im measuring up some shims i got layin around and hopefully this fixes it
