if i had unlimited funds, i would have gone with a walsh/custom axis or pep combo. i ended up with a standard travel +2 burgard/ 450r combo and its enough for me, but im just a trail rider. look at the walsh racecraft a-arms on the project 400ex that pappy built.

Money no issue? Roll design and Fox shocks

Money actually will be an issue. Im hoping that I can get away with spending no more than 2000 on a front end and a rear shock and axle.

I have no problem buying used, but I want to get the A-arms new or as close to as possible. Most people who buy highend shocks also purchase guard sor covers, so they stay in decent shape.

But I will be getting the shocks revalved for my skinny arse...and my skill level. Im just gonna start off racing the begginer class and see how it goes. If I think its unfair (if for some reason, I own everyone) then I wont accept the award (if there is one) and i'll move up a class. I dont think I should have much trouble racing in C. I have good endurance, Ive been riding for 11 years and Im very comfortable with my abilities. I also know my limits...which I choose to test every so often...and I wind up flat on my arse.:blah:

Lol. Im foot tall and as of 15 minutes ago, I weighed approximately 127.65 lbs.

I was looking into some of the smaller companies too. Wicked Products makes good A-arms. FullFlight seems to be a decent company, and im also looking into JD Performance.

They have the same products but for a hundred or more cheaper than the big names (Houser, Laeger, Walsh, etc.)

And also, for those who may look at my profile and realize im only 15, and am talking about that amount of money...

My dad is very supportive of my racing, and me and him have a deal. When I need/want parts, if I can raise half of the $, he will front me the other half. But I do pay him back as I can.

I dont just get stuff handed to me. Everything on my 440 was paid for by me or my dad, and eventually was paid back if he bought it.

Look at Eyeball engineering A-arms the last time I priced them I think they were $750, thats for Long Travel though if you go that route.

Sense you said you dont mind used stuff just keep your head up and find deals on stuff. Theres always something that people wanna sell or trade.

I talked with someone at C&D earlier.

I can get my front shocks resprung with tripple rate springs, revalved for my weight and skill. Also I can get my rear shock resprung with double rate springs, serviced, revalved.

All for $700. So now im on the hunt for some good standard travel a-arms and im considering the G-force axle.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I've heard good things about them and im sure alot of people would recommend them to you. I thought about going with a G-Force axle but then I figured more people run LSR axles than G-Force and I did'nt mind spending an extra 150 bucks on the LSR. But I guess it comes down to how much your willing to spend.

Garrett89 on here might still have his G-force Axle for sale yet according to his thread for $170.

Well, I just got off the phone with a certain company. The guy said he could get me a set of LSR standard travel a-arms for 650, PEP race series shocks for 650, and redo my rear shock completely and add in a LSR axle for 350.

So I guess spending $1650 isnt horrible. I can deal with it, knowing that I got a helluva deal on all of it!

That sounds like a good deal to me considering I got a 3K front end for $1250, but then you add brakelines which were $90 and my axle at $350 so I spent like $1690 on my stuff which really dont take that much of a chunk outta my piggy bank.

Hope everything works out for ya.

I have a G-Force axle and havn't had a single problem. Especially for $200 shipped. I recomend SMC a arms lifetime warranty for $475 standard travel and $575 long travel. Steve is a good guy also! smcfabriation.com

Only thing is, if I order all of my stuff from company "X", then I very well may have a sponsership deal involved also:)
