a few weeks back i finally traded my old kfx for a yfz! i thought i got off pretty lucky trading straight up...i would do it again in a second but i was just wondering if there was anyone that thought i would have been better off selling my kfx and buying a yfz, as in, could i have maybe bought a better one for the same money? i dont think so at all but thats just me...

here's my old kfx, i could post a mod list but this should do, basically the only stock parts are the frame and plastic, shift levers, and the engine.

yea i thought the same thing, almost to good to be true. then like the first day i had it blew a head gasket! haha but the guy was really cool about it and fixed it for free (he owned a nice little shop that'd been around for 30yrs or so) and while he was in there i just had him replace the 13:1 piston with a 12:1.

if he fixed a gaskit for free then you know he aint hiding nothing most people would not have fixed it for you. good deal there

yea i cant even describe what a vast improvement it is over the kfx, even with the money that was dumped into the 400, never-the-less i wonder what kind of responses i'd get if i pasted this in the kfx/ltz/dvx info forum haha

i did put those tires on it however, and painted the bottom a-arms, but other than that its exactly like i picked it up.

one question tho. how did you like those rear kenda's on your kfx. i havnt seen anyone with them

i LOVED the kenda radials..i've had several ppl pm me about them for a write up and i was the same way before i bought them, i hadn't seen anyone with them, but i knew i wanted to try some radials and they were the cheapest by a long shot. i took them everywhere tho, mud, rocks, SAND, roots, long muddy hills, mx tracks, i mean there wasn't one terrain those tires didnt see and they never failed me. i got stuck one time in a sandy/mucky river crossing but so did everyone else so...haha i did make it the furthest though! forward traction was amazing, and kentucky is so hilly and wet all the time they were perfect, they slide incredibly well and predictably too, the only other thing in my experience that comes close to them is the knarly rear (20inch) and razr fronts combo. i woulda bought them again but i got these holeshots for free off a buddy so...

p.s. had them for several months before i sold it with no signs of wear and zero punctures! :)

KFX had elkas but the YFZ can get revalves and stuff to make it great too. I think it was a great trade

yea, thats the ONLY thing i miss are the elkas...the yfz's shocks are absolutely awesome for landing jumps and big drops and stuff but...dayum they beat you up over the small stuff lol.
