View Full Version : Can only popstart it

My quad was hard to start saturday and it hasnt been started in about 3 weeks it took forever to start but it did and i didnt run the battery down so i let it run and warm up then i shut it down and loaded it on the trailer. I get to st joes it fired right up and rode for a couple of hours and i stopped and started it a few times while riding..well i turned it off to watch some people drag race for about 10 min and when i went to start it i got nothing it wouldnt even turn over at all. I got pulled and popstarted it and it ran fine rode it for a hour without turning it off but when i did it wouldnt start again.

Does this sound like a bad battery to you guys or could it be something else?

Loose connection?? Do you have the stock CDI on it?? check your fuse?? But I did have to replace my 2001 battery recently,,but it slowly died not all of a sudden..

no loose connection and i do have the stock CDI

I'll check the fuse tonight..

lol no flame intended, but i havent heard anyone call it popstarting in a LOOOOONG time. Thats classic!:D

that happened to me and it was the fuse.

ive never heard either of them around here weve been calling it "catching in gear" we got a lot of people that dont have battery or kickstart (dont ask why you'd take it off but we always gotta help people catch it gear
