What exactly is a counterbalance? The only thing I know is that it was on the TRX250R and you need them to keep the engine from vibrating. So why can't someone just make one for a cr250 engine so we can throw that in a quad frame? I hope someone can shed some light on the subject.

A counter balancer is not a bolt on item. The 250r cases are molded to accept room for the balancer and bearings. As the piston goes up and down it causes a vibration. The counter balancer, counters the vibration by moving a force in the oppisite direction. I know that our smaller diesel engine (3-4 cylinders)here at work have counter balancers. The larger 6 cylindered engine do not have them becaused they are already balanced.
I hope that I did not confuse you too much. I think I got it all right, some correct me if I am wrong.
