i have a 400ex with stock rims
i am getting new tires but the ones i want only come in 20x11x9
would those fit on the stock rims which have 20x10x9 tires

the middle number is just the with of the tire not the wheel. Like razrs are .5" wider on each side (they hang over the wheel where the tread is) so its better because technically you gain 1" width on the rear with a tire like that and there is more surface area for grip.

Yes. When ordering tires the measurments are as follows.

20x10x9

20= height of the tire.
10=width of the tire
9=Rim diameter.

as long as the last number matches with the size of your rim, it will fit. (unless its an extreme change.)

It also gives you more sidewall bite.;)

some guy at cycle outfitters was tellin me how they wont fit bc they are 1 inch bigger in width so the bead wont seat in the rim...
so i wanted a deffenet answer

im pretty sure that you can go up to 6 inches wider on the tire than the rim...read that somewhere..but that seems like more than anyone would ever need.
