Im putting a walsh 250r together that i bought in pieces. I cant get the rear brake to mount to the brake stay, i think the brake stay might be for a 450r or something because the rear mounting hole is so close to the swingarm that there is no room for a bolt to fit. Also, even if i could get a bolt in there, the brake would still not work because it hits the swingarm before the holes line up.

Could someone post a pic of a rear brake mounted from either a stock bike or preferably a walsh rear end? thanks alot guys!

did you rotate the cam on the carrier all the way around?

I made that same mistake 2 yrs or so ago ,
just put your carrier in and put the brake stay on and roll the carrier over
it will work

You shouldnt have to rotate it at all. I was mistaken when i first had my 250R, some tard put 400EX brakes on it and totally screwed it up. So i switched everything back to 250R. I tried to use the 400EX brake stay first but had the exact same problem you have now.

The 400EX brake stay i was using mounted the caliper more behind the swing arm, and the 250R one mounts it kind of on top of the round housing.

It's probly a tapered carrier, the stays are different, and they're a pain in the arse.
