I see that you are from Cape Girardeau. Dirtworks Motorsports does powdercoating and gusseting. They are about 2-3 hours west of you in Mountain View I believe.

As far a gusseting I can make my own I have 10 years experence in welding & fabraction. I have seen lots of pics of where they go and have all the equipment to do the job. Thanks though.

You won't be disappointed with Pappy's work.

The only reason like I said b4 that I didn't send to Pappy was because of shipping cost. I have seen 2 of his jobs in person and they are flawless. I am just hoping I am going to get somewhere close to the quality of Pappy's work. To be honest after looking at his work is the only reason I am going powder coat. I could have just painted it myself

Yo d3ktrix , i see your from jersey to , just curious how much was shipping to get your frame to pappy?

Shipping a frame is usually cheaper than people think. I believe Pappy even has instructions on how to do it in his BK Performance section. If it's just the frame its not too bad, but once you start sending a ton of little parts, it all starts adding up with weight. His prices are usually cheaper than any of the local places I've seen as well, so that offsets the cost of shipping, and then to top it off with his good work... I guess it all just comes down to what you want and how quick you want it.

I shipped him a Frame / Subframe / A-arms / Nerf Bars / Heel guards in a MASSIVE box.
Weighed 62lb

$37 Shipped Fedex Ground Insured

Would of gotten there in 2 days if it wasn't delayed in a snow storm.

Ya I was surpised too, esp for its super size and weight.

Though make sure you use Fedex or DHL,, UPS wants like a billion dollars to ship something like that.
And its normally cheaper to go to 1 of the big fedex bases to ship it, instead of 1 of the privately owned hole in the wall fedex places that charge extra fee's. (I think they do anyway)

yeah the closest thing to me is UPS at a 45 min drive. and it would be cheaper for me to just drive it to him then ship it. UPS gave me a quote at $310

UPS charges way more then the others. If you need help on how to ship please contact me.

For most, they can ship here and back with less hassle then trying to find someone close to them and they are assured that the parts get coated correcty (as in no powder where it shouldnt be, and extra care given to check for cracks and areas that cause problems)

I look forward to helping anyone I can, so feel free to give us a try!

If you buy the postage online most of the carriers will do free pickup right at your house.

I own a UPS store and 310 is higher than I have ever seen before, especially for a "low dollar" ground shipment. The key is dimensions get the largest box possible lay the frame on the side and cut that thing down as low as it will go. OR just shrink wrap the hell out of it and pay the 11.75 no ox fee and call it good. Most importantly make sure its a UPS shipping facility or an actual THE UPS STORE any other Mom and Pop shipping places will tack on 40% (avg), this will apply to DHL and FED ex too. JMO. The 3rd option would be freight which is def more expensive than regular UPS but shouldn't be any more than 100 bucks AT THE MOST!
info only

katch..i use 2 24x16x24 boxes. the frame is foam wrapped and cusion is added front and rear and then i shrink wrap the box. average shiipng for me on a frame only is $30(business rate) the overall dimensions are 39 x 16 x 24 with weight at 30 lbs.

most of the folks that ship here zip tie the sub frame inside the frame, cut card board panels to cover the frame and shrink wrap them or do exactly as you say with a cut down box.

i never thought i would be getting the amount of frames in here that i do, but most folks tell me they either do not trust or get along with their local place or the local place is to far away (when they factor in gas and time to make a few trips back and forth, the shipping equals out for their time and expense)

i still recommend that everyone check locally but i do appreciate the support. i do know that the fact i will check for cracks and repair is a huge factor in why i get work from local shops, even the ones around here will not take the time to check much less repair anything.

The face that Pappy checks for damage, has an awesome reputation, and has great rates is why I shipped my frame all the way from Idaho to him. The local shop quoted me around double what Pappy did and I have mod idea of their quality of work.

I cant wait to get the frame back so i can go riding again!
