i was changing my front sprocket today, and i snapped a bolt inside, but the other one is fine, is it ok to ride with one bolt holding it for now?? If i did have 2 get the bolt out what is the best way??? thanx

i would try it one of 2 ways. these are just simple ways to try

1. take a dremel and saw out a little slit so you can fit a flathead screw driver in

2. take some super glue put it on the bolt, then take and old screw driver and put it in there. let it dry and try and unscrew it.

3. if all else fails ride with one bolt

thanx alot for the reply, the bolt is actually cracked inside, so i wont even be anle 2 tough it with a dremel, so u think its ok to ride like this?

I did that same thing and the bolt came right out. I pulled the sprocket off and it was easy to get at it and unscrew it with my hands. May be I got lucky.

well, I don't think very much pressure is put on those bolts if the chian tension is correct, but you do run the risk of your sprocket coming off and that could be bad. But if you have your case saver on, it should be ok, but do try to get it fixed, it shouldn't be that tough. Did you try taking the sprocket off and unscrewing the bolt?

no, but it looks like it cracked it the middle of the sprocket, so i dont even know if i'll be able to get the sprocket off because it is threaded

cant u just buy a new sprocket? THe only thing that bolt does is holds that splined plate on the sprocket so it doesnt come off. Just buy a new sprocket and a new bolt :huh

How did u break that bolt? I just installed a sprocket like 3 days ago and tightened it as hard as i could. Also the flat side of the sprocket is supposed to face out right? lol hope i put it on right

Yea, the flat side of the sprocket goes out. The raised side goes in, on the motor side.

imo i wouldn't run it with 1 bolt, too risky. id dry to maybe back it out with a drill or use the dremel..good luck man

if i use a dremel and mess up the threads can i put a bolt with a nut in the back to hold it in place?

Lmao, dude looks like you gotta spend $15.

$14 for a new sprocket, and $1 at your local hardware store for newer & stronger bolts, w/ lock washers.

go buy a EZ out, take the other bolt out so you can take the sprocket off. take the sprocket with you to a hardware store. buy the EZ out
