If its running fine when your on the gas, and popping when you let off try leaving your main the same and bumping the pilot up to like a 48.

Your sig says your running an 04, does it have the stock carb?

A 165 main jet sounds really lean for an 04 carb.
Thats 06+ range jetting.

Also b4 rejetting try adjusting your air mixture screw.:) I had the same issue and went crazy changing the pilot jet and ending up back at the 42 and just fine tuning the air mixture.

Well that makes sense because the stock jet is a 118 :P
For an 04-05 though, 165MJ is too lean. Unless maybe u live in some crazy high elevation you should be closer to 180-185MJ with the air box lid off.

People with 06-08 FCR carbs should be running around 165, not in a 04 bike.

The brand of the jet kit has nothing to do with the brand of the exhaust.
The sparks jet kit comes with keihin jets anyway I think.

Are you running a stock filter? I would try a 175 main jet, and bump the pilot up to a 48. You shouldn't have to buy the sparks kit. Do you have a local dealer? They should carry jets in stock.

yes the sparks kit is nice but you still may need to tweak it a bit because i am pretty sure they only come with the jets and needle that go hand in hand with thier pipe and filter.
