Well i own a Lawn, landscape and snow removal business. I have been thinking about getting a Sportsman 500 with a snow plow for the smaller drives and large apartment complex sidewalks, where you can't use a truck plow.

Anyone used them, and are they worth the money or just junk?

Are kawi 300 4x4 has a plow and works perfect. 300cc has plenty of power for plowing.

used to plow with an explorer 400 4x4 with a winch and plow, real nice set up. Only had it one winter and the deepest snow we had was like 8" but it did find and could have done way more.

Oh yeah I rigged up a way to throw 2 50lb dumbells on top of the plow so it would scrape a little harder, only downfall if it isnt snow it isnt coming up.

Personally I would get a rubicon 500 or else a grizzly 450 if i were to get a utility. They are probably the 2 nicest for that size. Polaris is just junk lol.

yea dont go with polaris. i have like a 2000 yamaha timberwolf 4x4 its like 250cc with an electric plow and ive used it in like 2ft of snow. it works great.

Ok for the whole curiousities sake thing dont make sense but I know people that have 3 polarisis, pred 500, scrambler 500, 700 4x4. The 4x4 is hard to start and impossible to handle, pred 500 all the frame does is crack and its just a trail rider and the scramber had over 2 grand into getting the tranny fixed and they are all pretty new.

1st the 700's had a dealer update available to jet the carb better to make them start better in the cold.

2nd I don't know about the pred I really havent seen people breaking these frames, maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

3rd. I can't imagine how you could put 2000 into a scrambler transmission, there is not much to them, a 4x4 could be more but not $2000

and BTW to the topic starter a sportsman 500 is likely the most popular and best all-round machine Polaris ever had and just fine for plowing snow as you have true 4x4 and good ground clearance, 2 things not all can brag about. Another good thing is they are heavy and that will help alot in the snow plowing, as in they will out work a 250 or 300 which would be fine for around the house but I think your going more commercial? And if it makes you feel better all I do is work on quads for a living at my business and don't really have much in the way of bias.

I am not really in a situation to lie about stuff beucase imo all polaris quads suck so i dont really care becuase as much as ive seen them break and yes it was a $2000 bill it was in 4x4 and the tranny went out. If you want a good utility get a honda or yamaha but i prefer honda but its up to you.
