engine swap ??

a buddy of mine has a z400 with a busted case. will a kfx400 engine work in a z400 without modification. the reason i ask is that in the forsale section i see z400 and kfx400 parts listed together like as if they were interchangable?

they are they same quad with different plastic, and badging.
