Oil Leak

Hey guys...I am looking into buying a 2001 400EX, but it does "leak oil between case". What do you guys think is broken and how much do you think it will cost to get it fixed?

there are enough 400's in good shape for sale. stay away from a bike that is going to stain your garage floor.

When you say "leaks oil between case" from exactly which part of the case are you talking about? If its something you are going to have to split the case on. That could get kinda expensive to do unless you can do it yourself. Plus if its only a 2001 and is leaking oil chances are its been ragged pretty bad. Unless your picking it up dirt cheap Id stay away from it. Its probably nothing but trouble.

if the guy got the 4 year warranty like i did, have him have it warrantied and fixed before you buy it, and the warranty is transferrable to you also,,,later
