Did you get exhaust yet? I love mine. Can't keep my foot out of the throttle:D
For those wondering about the 6.0, they are 2003.25, go figure.
And if you order Ford parts ya gotta order '04.

Yeah, I knew he got a new one.
Mines a 4" MBRP, 409 Stainless, Dual with 5" polished tips. Oh yea, no kitty...just a 5" open muffler. Plus gauges in a overhead pod.
By spring I'm going to have a SCT tuner with a "Looney" tune.

what about the shocks? i wouldnt mind getting some guages to keep a good eye on things. set me up with some ideas. are you still looking to mount yours on the headliner?

What about what shocks?
I already have the gauges, they're mounted above my rear view mirror. Auto Meter make a regular 3 gauge pod for there.
I got the 3 gauges that are "must haves" for the 6.0. Boost pressure, Pyro (that's exhaust temp) and tranny temp.

To the original poster, I'm not sure what the scoop is on the 7.3 motors, but I know the 6.0 guys I talk to wouldn't run a K&N intake for any reason. Many who have joined have ditched them in place of the stock setup. I know on the 6.0 motors, the stock intake is actually very good and said to support up to 500 rwhp. The problem is that if any little bit of dirt gets in, its not only going to your motor such as on our quads, but it hits that turbo first, and is even worse for that. Dusted turbos are not something you want. The only intake I really see on our trucks are teh AFE setups, and they are expensive, but supposed to work infinitely better.

Snoop around www.thedieselstop.com and see what you think.

Does your truck have a "kitty" on it? If it does, get the "cat delete pipe"!

If he has any bit of warranty left I would recommend against it, as most dealers do not tolerate that. Being its a 7.3 and a slightly older truck, probably not, so I say lose the kitty too.

yeah she got me a big dil oh oh oh no i mean:devil:

what is a kitty? if you are talking about a cat i dont have one on my truck, straight pipe untill the muffler then back to straight. could this truck possibly allready have a aftermarket exhaust its only 3"

Yeah I think 3" would be aftermarket for that, and yes kitty is referring to cat, a lot of the diesel sites forbid you to talk about any modifications to the emissions systems. So users come up with clever alternatives.

the muffler had a ford part # on it so i dont think it was aftermarket. kev and i installed the exhaust today as well as stripping my whole quad down and ready for pappys. it went pretty well, very happy with the power increase, fuel mileage, and throttle response. big thumbs up. thanks again to kev for all the help
