I just bought a '93 TRX200D....picked it up for $100 which was really a pretty good deal, it isnt in too bad of shape except for 1 part...

The rear axle is shot, I dont think it had been apart since it left Japan. One of the bearings was completely frozen and the other was in pieces. The axle wobbled around inside the mount and the brake drum wouldnt come off with a 6 ton press.

We ended up using a torch to cut the drum off, but there really isnt much that is usable.

Sooo....I am looking for some advice as to what my options are. I have kicked the idea around of fabbing a Blaster rear axle in there, they look like the mount pretty close to the same way and I would then have rear disc brakes.

Has anyone tried this or something similar? Does anyone have one of these machines laying in the weeds and would be willing to part with the whole machine or just the axle?

I am planning on using this as a pit machine at the races, kids will be on it and i want it to be safe.

Thanks
Ed.
