WE havent decided yet, but we would like to have the wheels done black,Im just concerned on the durability with rock and logs ect.
Would look cool though considering the only things chrome looking now is the pipe and stem.

Were going to have the new suspention set up PC'd glossy as well.

Well, if the plastic colors we chose are in stock(which they might not be) then we may go this route then.

I always liked these colors on a few 450R's and never got the chance to do it, so we thought it would be fun to do on Brandons.:)

They will go on the back up quad eventually.
Once the "other" set up is done, we will be putting it on the race mini.
Hopefully it will be ready in time for round one .

That looks great........... Kenny does very nice work. Me and Kyle do our own powder coating last year we did super mirror yellow and mixed silver metallic with the super mirror clear for a top coat, this year he wants the frame to be white......... we were going to do the same thing until I just showed him this......... we're now thinking super mirror white and mix the prism add. with the super mirror clear. We use all Columbia Coatings powders but the only place I can find the add. is Pendry......... if you don't mind me asking Kenny is that what your using . Looking at the pics it looks like you mixed the add. with a clear coat over black.

all i use is premixed...

using metal flake on lighter colors doesnt really bring the effect out as it needs a dark base. above is metal flake on the base coat with a clear top coat

etondaddy
12-25-2007, 07:53 PM
Thanks Kenny ............ I understand the dark base thing but we're just looking for a subtle effect like the yellow last year. I could just blast the white on and be done but heck that wouldn't be no fun. We'll do a test piece first like we did with the yellow last year.

hEY i have seen mikes work and all i can say is SWEEEEEET. the mix of yellow and the grafix combo he used turned out really nice.

Mix a color to go with the grafix you choose again mike and you cant go wrong... like a blue spek or blk like a pepper i seen it done on OCC or maybe try that lace pearl you talked about.

Your the Next King of Coatings mike , I think ya got alittle sparkle in your eye .. it's subtle but its definately a sparkle...LOL

You think painting it black will look OK?
I think the only thing that wont be black is the axle and the wheels, were still undecided and low on time for the wheels.

Stock length on that one. That one was put together using the original DRR frame that he broke(fixed it),half the parts from the old Kasea and a few parts I found lying around the shop.It is scary how many parts you accumulate over the years LOL.

A couple of the smaller pieces came today...
We decided to reverse the colors on the plates to match the colors of the plastic.
Were still not 100% sure we got a blue quad(I think due to popular demand, the DRR oversold!) so I HOPE that is whats on its way :eek2: :p lol

Quadkunkies, That would be a polaris rzr with a +6 dragon fire racing suspension with fox shocks. i also added the full exhaust , fuel controler, seat belts, uni air filter.

I was able to do this because the wife races with me and as you know all this stuff is a must to be SAFE, faster is just a plus.

sssshhhh dont tell her.

i will put some better picks on a new thread after the race this weekend.
