im planning on buy a new set of wheels for my sierra they stocks on it now are 17 i was wondering if i could go down to a 16 ? thanks

you can go down to a 16, which is a smart choice, as tires are more abundant and cheaper. Being a GM product, im sure you wont have any problem with clearance, but sometimes when a truck has 17s on it, its because of caliper clearance, in which some times you can shave them, but that may not be you case, so Im sure you wont have a probelm..

ya price differnce from the 17s to the 16s was crazy thanks i wasnt sure

NP, When it comes to tires and wheels, theres nothing cheap about them lol. I know Im getting ready to through dow 800 dollars for them, and I know Im getting out of it pretty cheap lol,

wait a minute there cheif where's the fire......
first you need to check the size of your rotors because alot of truck manufacter's are going with larger rotors to support the larger payloads they are selling these trucks with look first find a friend or family member with 16's on their truck and make sure your calipers will clear with space, usually a finger is enough

99.9 % of the time whatever size wheel comes stock on a vehicle is the minimum size that you can run

what year is it?

2005+ GM trucks 17 is as small as you can go. they switched back to drum rear brakes that year and changed teh front rotors, 16's will not clear.

if it is pre 2005 you can pit 16's, as 17 were only an upgrade option and 16 were the true stock wheel size.
