Ok I just went through this motor and replaced a ton of stuff. This was the first time that I tore apart a honda engine as I was on a Yamabomb. Well I changed the crank, shift shaft, piston, head, cams, cylinder and all the bearings. Well got it together and noticed after 1 ride that my glass eye read empty? So i put just a tad more oil in it and brong it back up to par. However it looks dark. Not like the clear gold oil I am using. I am using Red HN4 on the clutch side so I know that they are mixxing. Is there is easy fix for this? Any pictures what to fix?

could be : torn big right side clutch cover gasket, right hand crank seal, or forgot to install the relief valve assembly under the ignition cover. Would be # 7 in this diagram.

Maybe the gasket. The crank seal is new. and the relief valve is installed

my crank seal was new also, after i did my updated crank with collar and i had the same problem you did. In my case the seal actually got a bit messed up on install. Best of luck to you. i know its fustratiing. Atleast your motor is in a 450 frame. Mines in my 400ex frame and i had to pull the motor every time just to take the big clutch cover off becuase it would hit the frame :grr:
