12-21-2012 (http://www.adishakti.org/mayan_end_times_prophecy_12-21-2012.htm)

It's a pretty interesting read...tells everything about it. But I still think it will be just another day:ermm:

6. In 2012 the plane of our Solar System will line up exactly with the plane of our Galaxy, the Milky Way. This cycle has taken 26,000 years to complete. Virgil Armstrong also says that two other galaxies will line up with ours at the same time. A cosmic event!

7. Time is speeding up (or collapsing). For thousands of years the Schumann Resonance or pulse (heartbeat) of Earth has been 7.83 cycles per second, The military have used this as a very reliable reference. However, since 1980 this resonance has been slowly rising. It is now over 12 cycles per second! This means there is the equivalent of less than 16 hours per day instead of the old 24 hours.

I glanced at that website quickly, does anyone know if these two quotes hold any truth?

More compression=sooner detonation of the fuel.

They get better mileage (some of them) because you drive a deisel around at 1500 rpm, and rarely ever get above 2000, where as in a gasoline powered vehicle your usually between 3500 and 1500 rpm.

They were most deffinately not on crack.

They have predicted time to be within 2 seconds of ours, and they were around THOUSANDS of years ago. Theyve predicted the moon phases, etc also.

We should also be looking into Nostradamus' quatrains. That chit will freak you out.:eek2:

so on the last half of that quote that doesn't make a drop of sense. If the days are only 16 hours long instead of 24 our clocks would go out of sinc with the sun coming up and going down. And really who give a turkey anyways

Romans?

No, the Mayans figured it out in the first place. The romans did have the Sun Dail which allowed them to keep track of time, when it was light outside.

I say that the end will come whenever it comes. Until then, why worry ourselves with it. Live every day to the fullest and have no regrets. When the time comes, we'll all be killed, wether it be by the hand of a mad man with some form of weapon, or from some catastrophic natural event.

According to my science teacher, our sun will, in roughly 40-60 billion years, engulf the earth, then explode once it reaches its critical size. So eventually, this whole planet will be disintegrated.:)

Really, we wouldn't blow ourselves up. The earth is to large for that to happen. What could happen is a nuclear winter.

That would suck. We would all suffocate on the ashes, and the earth would become to cold to be inhabitable. No heat from the sun = us freezing to death.
