i know this has been discussed b4 but i thought i would see what you all think.

right now i have PJ1 blue label chain lube and that crap is nasty. it's soo sticky everything sticks to it. dirt, leaves, and anything you can think of.

i was thinking about trying something different. i was thinking about Bel Ray MC2 or the Super Clean chain lube. Maxima chain guard or Chain Wax. Klotz chain lube or KLR (which i'm not sure is ok for o rings or not)

basically what i want is something that is NOT STICKY like the PJ1 blue.

any ideas?????

people say not to use it, others swear by it...wd-40. i have been using it for about 3 years with absolutely no problems. you just need to apply it much more often than regular chain lube, because its not sticky at all.

i've used bel ray, bel ray super clean, and maxima, and by far the best I have experienced is bel ray super clean. I would not switch to another again. Maxima doesn't last as long as Bel Ray. The only downfall from the regular bel-ray and bel ray super clean is the regular shoots out more white, which will stain your swing arm if you let it set.
but that's just my experience.

so you say the maxima and the belray are not really sticky so to say?

my buddy just got a can of the maxima chain wax so i'll see how he likes it as well.

i use chain lube that comes out like foam then it disolves and spreads on the chain ... the can will last longer and the lube stays on alot better instead of flinin off when you ride
you can run through water too and it stays on its made by klotz but im sure any lube that comes out like foam will do the smae

Ive used wd40 for about the past year and a half on the same chain w no problems. Like pipeless said, you have to put it on a lot more often but it'll keep your chain clean.

Silkolene semi synthetic. It actually works it self into the chain . i hate that white bel ray spray paint looking stuff lol.

I'm using Belray right now and it's great. Long lasting. Less lubrication, and less dirt and dust pick up. Real good chain lube. I'm prolly going to try some Klotz next time I'm getting some.:)

kind of a noob question here but....how do you lube the chain? just spray the stuff on everywhere? what is the best to use on a stock chain?

I use maxima chain wax and I like it better than wd-40. Wd-40 will sling if you don't let it set long enough but the chain wax is good. It's not sticky either!

Jesse-yea you just let your rear tires spin while you spray the lube on the chain.

To spray on Chain lube. I like to get my chain a little warmed up by driving around the yard a few times, then i just put it in neutral, spray the chain as you are pushing the quad make sure to cover it all, then I usually let my quad sit for a like 10 or 15 mins, while i get all my riding gear on, then it's usually dry and ready to ride.

i do just the opposite. i figure that since the rings will warm up and expand, the lube wont get under them at all. therefore, i spray, then ride to seal the lube under the rings.

usually if i'm just ridin a little bit here at the house i'll take my floor jack and put it under the swing arm give it a few pumps and then turn the wheels with my left hand and spray with the right then hop on and ride.

i use chain wax or PJ1 black label, whichever one i can find in the trailer first.
both attract same amount of sand but the chain wax flings more than the PJ1 black label.

over the summer i soak the chain in a bucket full of USED pennzoil HD30 motoroil. my dad has done it to his 200x since the day got them (1985) and he still running the stock chain and its in great shape!
