What length shocks should I go with on lsr arms +2+1? What is stock length, and would they work? All input will be appreciated.

By the way, thanks to havinnoj for the great deal on these a-arms.

They usually measure about 16-1/4" eye to eye.Basically same length as stock, but stock shocks will be pretty soft on extended a arms

So the 16 3/4" my friend trying to get rid of would not work well?

1/2 inch won't make a big difference, the shocks compress and extend several inches during normal use.

However, the specific springs and valving in the shocks will make a HUGE difference. Different quads will have a different weight bias between front and rear, and also the specific geometry of the A-arms are different, resulting in different leverage ratios.

There is also the specific dimensions of mounting to consider. Is it a 6mm or 8mm bolt? Are the top mounts 1 1/4 inch wide, or 1 3/8"?

The end result is, you need a set of shock that are SPECIFICALLY designed to fit and work on the 250R with +2+1 A-arms. Anything else, and they may not fit, or may not perform correctly. )the good news is, the particular brand of the A-arms doesn't really matter too much, they are all built to the same mounting specs.)

Really good info bro. Thanks. At the time I don't know the width of the shock mount or bolt size, but the shocks are Works SG3 AT Steelrs valved for 200 lb. rider 16-3/4".

Don't take my mounting dimensions literally. I just made them up to give you examples of the different aspects you need to consider.

However, these shocks obviously had a purpose at one point or another. What machine were they originally designed for?

They originally for the 450r.
