Just purchased air cooled 50. Have a buddy wanting to buy a new bike for his daughter. Just wondering what most of you prefer. The air cooled or water. Does either one come with more or less HP than the other. Is the compression the same on both of the quads stock out of the box?

If you search you will find that this has been asked before with the answer being pretty much the same. The LC 50 is faster stock than an AC 50. Basically you can run tighter tolerances with a LC due to the fact it is constantly cooled no matter what. If it's hotter today than yesterday the AC will be affected slightly. Don't get me wrong both are great, but the LC is the way to go. Also the LC has a higher compression head available stock to help a little more. Hope this helps.

After racing the AC version all last season, we have decided to make the change and are ready to give LC another try(we had it prior and switched over ).
After taking to so many people, seems like the best way to go.

hey keep in mind that it may be slightly faster but if the rider cant hold the pin its not much more in performance... lc is better run at full bore because it dont heat up and expand like the ac which losses alittle after that 3rd lap at high rpms
now remember that the cost to redo the head is higher gaskets pack about 60 bones draining the coolant and this isnt something done at the track in 30 mins... like and ac either...
either way its a drr and that makes it the best...LOL
